Faith

More than anything else, faith gives me hope.  Being a Christian perhaps explains my cock-eyed optimism more than any other explanation.  And not just when I’m happy and things are going well.  No.  It’s harder to have faith when things are not going well.  I’ve failed more times than I can count.  But there’s always forgiveness.  And that, in turn, leads to more hope.

As Michael Card said,

“There is a joy in the journey

There’s a light we can love on the way

There is a wonder and wildness to life

And freedom for those who obey.”
