This is an easy but delicious recipe that my mother-in-law shared with me. It is perfect for those hot summer days.
Here is a picture of all the ingredients you’ll need (the white teapot is actually a PartyLite wax warmer and is NOT necessary for a great Grape Salad, but it sure looks pretty and smells great!).
Mix together:
- 8 oz. cream cheese
- 8 oz. sour cream
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
This is what the above ingredients will look like when they’re mixed together:
- 4 cups green grapes
- 5 cups red grapes
Refrigerate. Stores well for several days if refrigerated promptly.
Here’s what it will look like after you’ve mixed it all together:
Yayyy – a recipe with pictures, just the way I like them! This sounds rich enough to be dessert!
It certainly could be! It’s the perfect mix between sweet and light. I haven’t tried to use any of the fat free or light substitutions–sour cream, cream cheese, sugar substitutes–so I’m not sure if it could be made “healthier” but I would love to hear from anyone who tries it. And I had to call Myrna to find out if it really called for a tablespoon of vanilla (it did) since I’d never used that much in one recipe before. =)
Oh, my gosh! I can just taste this yumminess! I bet you could use any cut up fruit or a combination of fruits with this recipe. We have a Jello fruit salad that’s a family favorite (and favorite of anyone who tries it) that has a topping with cream cheese, nuts, sour cream, sugar, and vanilla. You could put anything under (or tossed in) that mixture and it would taste great! Thanks, Cindy! Have added this to my recipe files. [I’m emailing that recipe to you.]
PS: Love your Jadite bowl and all the other pretties in your kitchen!
